Britain Welcomes Land Based and Online Casino Gambling

There has been plenty of talking between the British Government and online casino gambling officials, as records show that ministers and officials have met internet gambling tycoons and their representatives no less than 26 times over the course of the past two years. The reason for this is the government's will to embrace the industry, as it looks to attract land based casino firms as well, to set up large-scale new gaming resorts in Britain.

The evidence of links between and online casino interests come in contrast to the current situation in the US, where the American Government is looking to drive away internet gambling. A new law has been passed there, following high profile arrests of British internet gambling executives. According to reports, recent meetings between ministers and gaming officials also involved heads of the Party Gaming and 888.com group in Gibraltar.

The Government's attempt to lure the firms into Britain has already meant they will face a tax of 15 per cent on gross profits, the same taxation applied to traditional bookmakers, and a rate regarded by bookmakers as extremely generous to the internet firms.
